„POLAMP-Warszawa” is well-known producer of light sources.
High intensity discharge (HID) lamps are basic products.
In all High Intensity Discharge lamps, light is produced by passing a current through a metal vapor.
Typical feature of such lamps is high efficiency, 5-10 times higher comparing with GLS lamps, maintaining light parameters during long time (average life is 10-30 times higher then in case of GLS lamps) and durability.
Lamps require suitable luminaries with ballast and capacitor or with ballast, capacitor and ignitor.
Due to their features HID lamps can be used in the most heavy conditions like streets, industrial and fair halls, in high-humidity and dusty places and locations where high life density is required like shop windows, fronts of buildings, advertising banners.
Short history of plant
1922 Polish-Dutch Electric Lamp Factory was founded by N.V.Philips. Factory had wide variety of high -quality products, i.e. GLS lamps, miniature lamps as well as radio lamps.
1923 Production in Polish Factory PHILIPS reached 4 million pcs. with employment 1 300 including 350 white collars.
1945-50
Electric Lamp Factory "Róża Lumksemburg" (ZWLE) was established.
1950-70
ZWLE developed production of modern light sources:
• Electric valves
• Mercury and blended light lamps
• Standard fluorescent tubes in range 20-65W as well as Miniatur tubes (7,11,13,18 and 24W)
• Automotive and special halogen lamps
• Linear halogen lamps
• Sodium lamps of standard and retrofit type
• High-wattage metal halide lamps
• L.E.D
1980 Factory faced temporary problems due to drop of home and export sales (Soviet Union market) and lack of hard currency as polish zloty was unconvertible.
VII 1991
ZWLE was converted into Trade and Production Company "POLAMP-Warszawa" Co.Ltd. Due to market situation company had to eliminate unprofitable products and focused on following light sources:
- metal halide lamps
- mercury lamps
- blended light lamps (MIX type)
- standard sodium lamps
- retrofit type sodium lamps (replacements of mercury lamps)
- high-wattage lamps (GLS)
- infrared heat lamps
The 90s Strenghtening POLAMP market posittion at home and foreign markets:
• moving 15 kilometers from center of Warsaw to own seat in Ozarow Mazowiecki
• working on continued quality improvement and implementation of ecological friendly production procedures
21st century Development of new items to production and distribution:
-end of GLS production according to EU directive
-widening of metal halide lamps range
-implementation of higher efficiency sodium lamps according to EU directives
-implementation of linear fluorescent tubes
-implementation of modern light sources-LED |
